As a physical therapist, I know there are multiple ways to address pain in order to maximize a person’s comfort and functional ability. Most of the time, patients are coming into an outpatient orthopedic setting due to pain during some sort of activity they do regularly. During this initial phase, we are trying to differentiate what is causing this pain for the person.

Is it something we need to refer to another medical professional?

Does it require further imaging?

Is it mainly muscular in nature?

Are there referred pain patterns?

Is this pain being caused by a functional mobility issue at another part?

Whatever the case may be, we like to address this initial acute inflammatory phase to get the patient comfortable and feeling safe and secure in our hands. This is where topical treatments can come in handy! It is difficult to work with a patient who is in too much pain and it’s imperative we get this under control immediately so we can address the root cause and the underlying issues.

I recently was able to try out a new topical treatment formulated by a neurosurgeon called Nano Relief– Nano Botanics. This is a topical treatment that goes beneath the skin’s surface unlike traditional topical treatments for improved pain relief! This roll-on applicator is simple to use and is formulated with arnica oil, menthol, and curcumin (the stuff you find in turmeric!) These ingredients are known to help with inflammation! Since it is formulated with nanotechnology, the ingredients are reduced to microscopic sizes for enhanced penetration through the skin as well as longer lasting effects. This means our patients, or anyone who uses it in general, could focus on their functional movement while quickly getting their initial pain under control.

After using the Nano Relief for a few weeks, I’ve been able to enjoy the quick effects of instant pain relief. I’m excited to share this with other therapists, patients, and friends so we can all move better and with less pain!
